Mandolin Tuning Notes

tuning fork

Click on the play button and match your mandolin strings to the sounds. The tuning pitches play from lowest to highest. (G-D-A-E)

Your 4th strings are tuned to a low G, your 3rd strings to a D, your 2nd strings to an A, and your 1st strings to a high E.

TIP: To get good sounding unison pairs, it is best to tune one string of each pair to the reference sound and then stop the audio and match your other string to the one you just tuned. This is generally a good idea even when using an electronic tuner.

Note: If this audio player doesn't work with your browser you can tune up with this video.
