Rest Stroke & Free Stroke

beginner guitar free lessonThis is a free lesson for classical guitar by Peter Vogl. This video covers the two types of strokes you can play with your index and middle fingers. A rest stroke is when you play a string (the 5th wither your index finger for example) and then allow your finger to rest on the next string (6th). When playing a free stroke you avoid hitting the next string. A free stroke allows for you to play faster and a rest stroke allows for you to create a louder sound.
