Em Arpeggios is a free guitar lesson by Peter Vogl that will teach you how to use arpeggios for soloing. Using arpeggios (playing one note of a chord at a time) allows you to add some interesting intervals to solos. We'll look at four different short arpeggios to use with Em. After Peter teaches you each of the shapes, he'll demonstrate them along with Track 6, Steady in Em, from the Let's Jam! Unplugged CD. Playing with just arpeggios can lead to your solos sounding too academic. Mix them in with the penatonic scale to get a diverse sound. To learn more about this concept check out our Rock Arpeggios premium lesson.

Rock Arpeggios by Jody Worrell will discuss how to break out of the pentatonic box and bring some power when soloing over chord changes. This downloadable Quicktime video lesson will cover major, minor, major 7th, minor 7th, major 6th and dominant 7th arpeggios. We'll learn what these arpeggios do and don't have in common and also how to use them. We've included seven jam tracks so you can practice these arpeggios in different situations.
