Altered Licks by Billy Wilkie is a downloadable Quicktime video lesson for Jazz Guitar. This tutorial covers soloing concepts as well as solo lines that could be used when an altered chord is being played. An altered chord in a jazz context, is a chord where the fifth or ninth of the chord is raised or lowered by a half step. This lesson also discusses certain altered shapes that we can treat as the basis for a solo line approach. We've also included an .mp3 jam track that you can use to practice these new techniques.
